Forget The New Nokia 3310, Samsung Just Launched Its Own RETRO Phone

SAMSUNG have launched a retro rival to the Nokia 3310 with the Galaxy line-up getting the addition of an old-school style phone.

After the huge success of the Nokia 3310, Samsung have taken launched their own attempt to tap into the nostalgia for 90s style phone.

The South Korea smartphone giant have brought back the flip phone for their Galaxy Folder 2.

On the outside, the Samsung phone boasts a “retro and lean metal” design but on the inside it’s running Android 6.0 and has a 1.4GHz quad-core processor.

It has 2GB of RAM, a removable 1,950mAh battery and a microSD slot that can expand the memory up to 256GB.

NOKIA has unveiled its refreshed Nokia 3310 mobile phone on-stage during its press conference at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow, in Barcelona. And yes, the specs reveal that the new Nokia 3310 might just be as good as you remember from the first time round.

The Galaxy Folder 2 features physical buttons to load up contacts, texts, and camera features.

It also has widgets that checks the amount of data used and a pedometer which appears on the home screen.

The Galaxy Folder 2 will launch in 3G and 4G LTE versions.

It is the successor to the original Galaxy Folder phone that was released by Samsung in 2013.


The latest Samsung device brings back the flip phone design that was all the rage before smartphones arrived.

Iconic flip phones include the Sony Ericsson T10 and T28, the Motorola Razr V3 and the Motorola MicroTAC 9800X.

Nokia's striking take on the flip phone, the Nokia 8110 - otherwise known as the banana phone - famously appeared in classic 90s movie The Matrix starring Keanu Reeves.

The return of the flip phone comes after the iconic and nigh-on indestructibleNokia 3310 made a hugely popular comeback this year.

The phone only costs £49.99 in the UK, boasts a month long battery and features the return of the much loved Snake game.

It also features boasts a 2MP camera, a colour screen and 2.5G internet connectivity.

The Nokia 3310 quickly sold out after launching towards the end of May, and Nokia have been working hard to restock the resurrected 90s phone.
